I Dream of D.C.
Ever since I was a little kid, I have always enjoyed watching movies that show the capital of our nation in Washington, DC. I wanted to visit that great city. It was only this year that my dream came true. I saved up the money to go on a trip with the Close Up Foundation. I spent eight days doing and seeing the things I have always wanted to do and see. I saw the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. A must for any trip to D.C. is a visit to any of the Smithsonian museums. I went to four of them myself. One of the coolest things I saw was the US Capitol where I got to meet my representative, Rob Bishop. Representative Bishop arranged for us to go on a tour that included a visit to the office of the President Pro Tempore. Parker, UTVA Ambassador
New Year's Resolutions
With the new year rolling around; everyone is trying to make new year resolutions, but how many of us actually stick to those resolutions? Well, according to www.statisticbrain.com, only about 8% of U.S Americans reach success with their New Year resolutions. Nevertheless, the most common tactic to keep your resolution is to receive support from others. In the long run, support from friends and family will trigger your sense to make them proud and it will be a reason far larger than any other to make sure you don't quit. Holly, UTVA Ambassador
